UEFA has announced 32 players who are vying to become the best European football player of the year.
The nominees were selected by journalists from all UEFA member countries after listing the names of five players. Interestingly, this time on the list next to such superstars as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi is the little-known Les Davies.
The 27-year-old forward represents the semi-professional club "Bangor City" in Wales. Since all players who were mentioned at least once were included in the list, Davies also received the honor.
"I couldn't even dream about it," Davies himself marveled.
