After yesterday's UEFA Champions League qualifying stage match against Panevezys "Ekranas" (0-0) played at home, the head coach of the Irish club, Stephen Kenny, did not hide his disappointment.
"At the moment, my players are sitting with their heads down in the changing room and can't believe they couldn't score a goal. There were plenty of chances to score, the fans supported our team excellently.
We played really well, and a goal would have 'lifted the roof of the stadium.' Now we have a difficult task ahead in Lithuania, we will try to do what we failed to do today - beat the 'Ekranas' goalkeeper," said the "Shamrock Rovers" coach.
The second leg will be played on July 24 at the "Aukštaitija" stadium.
