Zagreb's "Dinamo" president Zdravko Mamić is asking football gods for the Madrid "Real" club to successfully complete a deal to acquire London's "Tottenham" defender Luka Modrić this summer.
The reason is simple - the Croatian team, where the creative footballer played in the past, will receive 5 percent of the total deal amount agreed in 2008, which could reach 35 million pounds sterling.
This means that the "Dinamo" team would receive approximately 1.75 million pounds sterling (about 7.3 million litas) out of the blue.
"I know Luka well, he is like a son to me. Of course, I want him to become a "Real" player, in that case, we would also benefit financially," said the president.
"I have no doubt that Modrić would play in the starting lineup of the Madrid team, and the deal is being led by Mourinho himself, who has been in touch with the defender all month," said Z. Mamić.
