During a press conference held in Austria, the coach of Žalgiris, Damiras Petravičius, stated that his team arrived to fight for victory.

On the eve of the second round matches of the UEFA Europa League qualifiers between VMFD "Žalgiris" and Miodling "Admira Wacker" teams, a press conference was held at the "Trenkwalder Arena" stadium.

The head coach of Vilnius City Football Association "Žalgiris", Damiras Petravičius, openly expressed the ambitions of the Lithuanian vice-champion team. The positive Croatian coach also took the opportunity to banter with the press representatives of the opponents' club.

"We came to fight for victory, not to try to snatch a draw. We know it will not be easy, but we really want to advance to the next stage of the tournament. It is extremely important to us. We will do everything to achieve our goal," - started the Žalgiris coach confidently during the press conference. - "Last weekend we played matches in the Lithuanian championship. I tried to give my main players as much rest as possible. I also tried out a few innovations that we may use on Thursday."

"Miodling's 'Admira Wacker' is a very strong team, especially at their home ground. At home, they practically score at least one goal in every match," noted D. Petravičius. - "The team includes many individually talented attacking style footballers. We analyze their game and adjust our defensive actions."

"We closely watched the opponent's recent unsuccessful matches in the Austrian championship. The pleasant surprise of a 0-2 loss to 'SV Josko Fenster Ried' eleven delighted us. We expect a similar performance from 'Admira Wacker' on Thursday," joked the Žalgiris coach. - "As I mentioned before, we respect our opponents, but I will repeat it again, even playing away we will fight for victory."

Last week in Vilnius, at the LFF Stadium, the first clash between VMFD "Žalgiris" and Miodling "Admira Wacker" ended in a draw 1-1.

Goals were scored by Philipp Hosiner (12 min.) and Ramūnas Radavičius (72 min.).
