After the fiasco at the London Olympic Games, the coach of the Spanish youth national team (up to 23 years old) Luis Milla was dismissed from his duties.

Instead of the 46-year-old specialist, Julen Lopetegui will work, who has been in charge of the youth team (up to 19 years old) until now.

Milla managed to win last year's European youth championship, but at the Olympics the Spaniards, who were considered favorites, failed to score a single goal and withdrew from the competition after the group stage, losing to Morocco, Honduras, and Japan.
