Negotiations with London over the acquisition of striker Robin van Persie have hit a snag.
The 29-year-old footballer will become a free agent next summer and has already confirmed that he will not renew his contract with Arsenal. Therefore, there are talks that he will be sold before the end of September.
"We have made an offer, but Arsenal wants to negotiate with other clubs as well. So far, we haven't been able to break the ice," said Manchester United strategist Sir Alex Ferguson.
He continued: "I don't know what the leaders of the London team are thinking, but they are not engaging in talks. It's hard to say why. I hope everything will end favorably for us, but there is no progress so far."
It is believed that Arsenal will not agree to official negotiations until Manchester United's offer for the Dutchman, who scored 41 goals last season, surpasses 25 million euros.
