On Friday in Nyon (Switzerland) the draws for the UEFA Champions League knockout stage were made, dividing 20 teams into ten pairs, whose winners will advance to the main tournament stage.
The players of Panevezys' "Ekranas", after eliminating Brussels' "Anderlecht" from further competition, will face Limassol's AEL club from Cyprus, while our neighbors from Belarus, BATE Borisov, will test their strength against Kiryat Shmona's "Hapoel Ironi".
The prestigious debutants of the Old Continent's most prestigious football tournament will also face tough opponents - financially struggling "Malaga" will test the strength of Athens' "Panathinaikos", and "Gladbach" will try to overcome Kiev's "Dynamo".
The teams will clash on August 21-22 and then for the second time on August 28-29.
It is worth noting that the losing clubs will enter the main stage of the UEFA Europa League.
