Croatia's national team coach Igor Stimac stated that Tottenham's owner Daniel Levy is intentionally trying to prevent Luka Modric's sale to Real Madrid.
"Yes, the situation is quite complicated, because on one hand, there is a man who does not keep his promises. A year ago, Levy swore to God that he would let Modric go to Real if such an offer came. And now he suddenly changed his mind," said the Croatian.
"I think the club owner is trying to promote himself and gain fame worldwide. We remember that Dimitar Berbatov was also given permission to change teams only on August 31st," he added.
