The head coach of the richest club in the world, Sir Alex Ferguson, "at any cost" wants to acquire one of the biggest talents in Spain, right-back defender Sergio Ramos, according to the English media.

Highly talented S. Ramos, playing on the right side of defense, has already attracted the attention of European football giants such as Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Manchester United this season.

It is said that Sir Alex Ferguson has been watching the Spaniard's game in recent weeks and has asked the club management to buy this player "at any cost."

Meanwhile, Sevilla understands that it will be difficult for them to keep S. Ramos, just like Jose Antonio Reyes, in the club and will most likely agree to sell their star. However, it is worth noting that the club recently increased the player's buyout clause to 18 million pounds sterling.

The media claims that Sir Alex Ferguson is receiving recommendations from his brother Martin, who is the chief scout at Manchester United and is currently focusing on Spain. Among the players recommended by Martin Ferguson are Villarreal goalkeeper Jose Reina, Espanyol defender Ivan de la Pena, right-back Mario Regueiro, and defender Anderson Silva (both from Racing Santander).

Anderson Silva, who plays in the defensive midfield position at the age of 23, along with Michael Essien from Lyon and de la Pena, are named among the main contenders to replace veteran Roy Keane in Manchester United.

Manchester United director David Gill had previously stated that the club had spent all the money allocated for transfers this summer by acquiring Wayne Rooney for 30 million pounds sterling last summer. However, it is said that Sir Alex Ferguson can "gather" the necessary amount of money by selling a whole group of players. Among the main candidates to leave Old Trafford this summer are Alan Smith, Kleberson, David Bellion, Darren Fletcher, Quinton Fortune, and Phil Neville.

D. Gill also mentioned that "money has already been set aside" to acquire a new goalkeeper, as Roy Carroll is likely to leave Manchester United this summer.
