London's Queens Park Rangers have signed a three-year contract with right-back Jose Bosingwa.

The 29-year-old Portuguese left London's Chelsea in May and has been a free agent since then.

"He has a winning mentality, and that's exactly what I want to see in this team," said QPR manager Mark Hughes. "Jose understands the Premier League well and knows how to win matches."

Bosingwa himself said: "I had many offers, but this project impressed me the most. I enjoyed my time with the Chelsea team and wanted to stay in England."

This summer, the London team acquired seven more players: Samba Diakite, Fabio da Silva, Robert Green, Junior Hoilett, Andrew Johnson, Ryan Nelsen, and Park Ji Sung.
