Luka Modric has already tried on the shirts of Madrid, but this deal could be disrupted by a late offer from London.
Reports have emerged that the UEFA Champions League winners have offered over 40 million euros for the Croatian to a London club. This has made the leaders of Tottenham think, who just a few days ago agreed to sell the player to Real for a much smaller amount - just over 30 million euros.
However, Modric himself would like to leave the English Premier League and test himself among the champions of Spain, so the outcome of the negotiations remains uncertain. Also, it is unknown what amount would entice Tottenham to sell their team leader to a fierce competitor.
The fate of Nuri Sahin will also depend on this deal: Real would like to loan the midfielder to Liverpool, but the Turk will not be released as long as Modric's future remains unclear.
Last season, in 36 matches in the Premier League, the star of the Croatian national team scored four goals.
