In Spain, reports have emerged that recently operated Madrid defender Jonathan Woodgate is recovering rapidly.
Throughout the season, the 25-year-old Englishman, unable to play and sometimes even train due to a thigh injury, was treated in Finland last week. Some sources in Spain claim that he underwent surgery there.
According to an official club statement, tests have shown that J. Woodgate is recovering quickly and should be fully recovered by the end of the season. However, there is a lot of doubt whether, even if the player recovers by the end of the Spanish championship, "Real" will want to risk a €20 million defender who has not yet debuted for the Royal club.
J. Woodgate moved to "Real" from "Newcastle" for €20 million at the end of last summer. At that time, the player was injured, but "Real" doctors claimed that the Englishman would recover quickly. These predictions did not come true and although the defender was very close to making his debut once, he suffered a recurrence of a muscle injury in his left leg.
