Nuri Sahin should already join the club on Friday.
The 23-year-old midfielder belongs to Real Madrid, but they are willing to loan him out. Although teams like Arsenal from London were interested, most of Sahin's salary, which reaches 144 thousand euros, will be paid by the Liverpool team.
Furthermore, the deal would include an option to buy Sahin's contract after the season for 17.6 million euros.
"I hope we will receive confirmation in the next 24 hours," said Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers. "He is a great footballer."
Last summer, Sahin moved from Borussia Dortmund to Madrid but failed to establish himself in the first team. He played only 11 matches in the Spanish league.
