Sturridge remains on Liverpool's radar as the club looks to sell Adam and Downing © EuroFootball.com

Strategist Brendan Rodgers would like to acquire London striker Daniel Sturridge before the transfer window closes, as reported by the English press.

It may cost around 20 million euros to sign this footballer, so beforehand the 'Reds' would have to part ways with the services of several players currently in the squad.

It is said that Rodgers, who is also keeping an eye on Fulham's Clint Dempsey representing London, will seek to sell Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing. It is not ruled out that Joe Cole, who played on loan at Lille last year, could also leave the team.

However, negotiations between Liverpool and Chelsea over Sturridge could be complicated, as Sturridge, although not part of the main London team, is the only nominal striker besides Fernando Torres.

Indeed, the London club is also looking for reinforcement in this position and has set its sights on Napoli's Edinson Cavani and Bayer Leverkusen's Andre Schurrle.
