One of the most prolific English national team footballers of all time, Michael Owen, has signed a one-year contract with Stoke City.
For the past three years, he has been wearing the jersey of Man Utd, but this summer his contract was not extended.
Owen himself did not hide that he wanted to stay in the Premier League, so he rejected offers from several "famous European teams."
It was rumored that his former club Liverpool was interested in him, but negotiations with the player did not materialize.
Throughout his career, the Englishman represented Liverpool for eight years, Real Madrid for one, Newcastle for four, and played for Manchester United from 2009. In 52 matches he scored 17 goals, and in 89 national team matches he scored 40 times.
