Two meetings on Sunday took place in the German first Bundesliga championship - one of the league's underdogs "Bochum" met with the mid-table team "Kaiserslautern," while the recently successful "Wolfsburg" hosted the "Nürnberg" team fighting for survival.

"Bochum," which had not won a single away game since the start of the season, took the lead in the 39th minute after a goal by M.Meichelbeck, and although S.Blank equalized the score with a penalty kick in the 61st minute, the unexpected victory for the visitors was snatched by M.Diabang.

"Bochum" secured three points and maintained the 16th position, which was already being eyed by the "Hansa" club after a sensational victory, and also reduced the gap from the 15th placed "Gladbach" to just one point.

In other matches, "Nürnberg" defeated "Wolfsburg" away thanks to S.Kiessling's goal in the 63rd minute, moving further away from the bottom five. They now occupy the 13th position with 34 points, three points ahead of the team in 14th place, "Mainz."
