Over the weekend in England, the semi-finals of both football association cups took place. Both matches ended with convincing victories for the favorites - "Man Utd" and "Arsenal". These two old rivals will meet in the final of the cup, which will take place on May 21st at Cardiff's "Millennium" Stadium.

In the semi-final, "Arsenal" easily defeated the "Blackburn" team, a mid-table team in the Premier League. The "Gunners" took the lead in the 42nd minute of the match, watched by over 50 thousand spectators, when Robert Pires scored a goal from a few meters away. A few minutes before the end of the match, the young R. van Persie, who appeared on the pitch after a substitution, excellently broke through several defenders and scored a goal. To make matters worse, towards the end of the match, the young Dutchman defeated the "Blackburn" goalkeeper for the third time, hitting the ball into the right corner of the goal from about 14 meters after a wonderful pass from R. Pires.

In the other match, "Man Utd" also easily crushed the recently withdrawn from the UEFA Cup competition "Newcastle" club with a 4-1 score. Possibly the best game after a serious injury was played by one of the best forwards on the planet, R. van Nistelrooy, who managed to score twice against the opponents' goalkeeper. Additionally, goals were scored by the excellent P. Scholes and the young C. Ronaldo, who has been performing well this season. S. Ameobi stood out among the "Magpies".
