Casillas is upset: why do we have to participate in the qualification matches? © EuroFootball.com

The goalkeeper of the Spanish national team Iker Casillas did not rule out the possibility that his country's national team may not qualify for the 2014 World Cup.

The veteran was upset by the rules that require the 2010 champion team to participate in the qualifying matches.

"Of course, it is strange and unusual that the strongest national team on the planet does not have a ticket to Brazil. Anything can happen and a fairly strange situation will unfold - the champion will not be able to defend its title," Casillas was frustrated.

The goalkeeper identified the French as the biggest threat for the first place in the group.

"In theory, opponents, except for the 'blue', should not pose a threat to us," the Spaniard tried to reassure himself.

The group also includes Belarus, Finland, and Georgia.
