The London "Arsenal" club plans to offer a new contract to coach Arsene Wenger, who has become the symbol of the team.
This information was confirmed to the press by one of the team's executives, Ivan Gazidis.
"This is not a thank you for the past years, but a belief in a great football specialist who will continue to lead the team to victories. We are satisfied with the direction Arsenal is going and would like him to stay here until the end of his career," the director said.
"It is not true that we do not care about trophies and the board has set a goal to reach the top four of the Premier League. We are trying to win and I believe that this team has the highest ambitions on the planet," he added.
A.Wenger has been in charge of the London club since 1996, and the current contract with the Frenchman could last for another two seasons.
