"Barcelona" strategist Tito Vilanova admitted that in the Champions League match against Moscow's "Spartak" his players did not show their best game.
The Spanish vice-champions were trailing behind the Russian team for some time, but eventually celebrated a hard-fought victory 3-2 thanks to two goals from Lionel Messi.
"The game was good, but not the best. What pleased me the most was how we reacted when we conceded the second goal. So we feel good because we already secured a victory in the first match," said Vilanova.
"Breaking through the opponents' defense was not easy, and they were preparing quick attacks. We are used to that. But we still had plenty of opportunities," he added.
Meanwhile, "Spartak" coach Unai Emery stated: "We did 50% of what we wanted. It's a pity, but I remain among those specialists who have never won. It took to play a perfect match."
