The impressive winning streak of Munich's Bayern was interrupted where they least expected - in a UEFA Champions League match against the modest BATE club from Barysaw.
The Belarusian club defeated the titled opponents 3:1.

After the match, the German team's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer expressed regret.
"BATE defended very well and killed us with counterattacks. Meanwhile, my teammates failed to take advantage of the first chances to score and we were punished," said the player.
"Of course, the 3:1 defeat is disappointing, but Bayern made every effort to prevent it," Neuer indirectly asked the fans not to criticize.

Meanwhile, Munich's coach Jupp Heynckes praised BATE.
"Before the match, we knew we were facing a very strong opponent. The Barysaw team is highly organized, especially in defense. That's what they proved today. I would name their goalkeeper as the best player on the field," Heynckes said.
