FIFA Vice President Jim Boyce insists that simulation is becoming a big problem - the "cancer" of football.

The disappointment of the influential official was caused by an incident over the weekend, in which Liverpool forward Luis Suarez fell on the grass and tried to provoke the referee to award a penalty, although there was no contact with the opponent.

"I have seen several incidents, including Suarez's - I can't call it anything other than cheating. It is becoming the cancer of football," Boyce said.

He continued: "If simulation is obvious, it should be strictly punished. Sanctions can be imposed even later, after the match - some associations already do that. Because for referees to make decisions in real time can be difficult, especially if there is cheating."
