BLOG: Top 20 European Football Clubs of September © EuroFootball.com

In the portal "EuroFootball.com" - football fan Subo BLOGs about current football events.

September has passed, so little by little we can start evaluating the European football scene. This time the ranking is less humorous, as the number of matches played has significantly increased.

The EPL maintained its positions - again 6 clubs. Outliers WBA, Fulham, and Swansea were replaced by those who are practically always in the top 20 - Spurs, MU, and Arsenal. Everton dropped slightly in the ranking, while Manchester City rose slightly.

The losses in La Liga are also easily predictable - Valladolid, Rayo, and Deportivo are no more. Real and Malaga broke into the top 20. Other clubs that remained in the ranking improved their positions.

The situation in Serie A changed slightly - Inter is no longer in the TOP 20, Juventus and Napoli occupy positions in the top eight. Lithuanian clubs Lazio and Roma hold positions 33 and 43 respectively.

The number of Bundesliga clubs has more than doubled. Borussia and Eintracht secured a place in the top ten, while Schalke is at the bottom of the second ten, with fortune keeping them company. The remaining team in the ranking - Bayern, climbed to the top for the first time in the history of the rankings.

Out of 5 Ligue 1 clubs, only two remain in the ranking. OM dropped in the ranking, but stayed in the top 20, Lyon, Toulouse, Bordeaux, and Valenciennes fell below that line. PSG rookies secured a slightly higher position than OM in the ranking.

Stars of the month:

Real Madrid

A month ago, Real looked miserable, and so did their ranking. However, it turns out that when you're low, you can rise high :). Real won three games in the past month - one of them by a non-thrashing result against Rayo. This allowed them to climb 49 places in the ranking without even feeling the impact of losing to Sevilla.

Flops of the month:

Chievo

September was hopeless - 5 consecutive losses. Most opponents were powerful, but that doesn't change the fact that the Verona footballers suffered the most from the buxom Palermo this year, and that the team scored 2 goals in 5 matches. A drop of 70 places in the ranking and a descent to the last place in the ranking.
