The head coach of the Lithuanian national team, Csaba Laszlo, after the match in Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated that the team did not deserve to lose by such a large margin and expressed disappointment about the goals that could have been avoided.
The national team players blamed themselves for missed opportunities and lack of focus in defense in the first half.
The head coach of the Lithuanian national team, Csaba Laszlo:
"I am very disappointed because these were not the kind of matches where you deserve to lose by three goals. In the first 30 minutes we had opportunities, we looked good as a team. We had to take advantage of the chance when V.Borovskis had the ball on the edge. Unfortunately, then we conceded three goals in thirteen minutes. Bosnia beats us with individual skill, but we missed goals that we could have defended against. Before the first goal, M.Pjanic hit the ball from twenty meters unchallenged and made a successful pass. Then came a ricochet like in billiards - and it was already 2-0, then another goal followed. Later we managed to somewhat recover. In the second half, there were more intense episodes, and D.Sernas had a good opportunity.
It must be admitted that we do not have the same quality in attack as the Bosnians. In defense and the midfield we looked decent, but we do not create too much danger closer to the goal. That is our weakness. However, we are probably on the right path. I knew that playing against the Greeks and Bosnians away would be very difficult, but we just didn't want to lose by a bigger margin."
