Bosnian leader Džeko worth more than the combined Lithuania and Latvia national teams © EuroFootball.com

During the World Cup qualifiers, the Lithuanian national team is not doing very well. In the recent matches, the Lithuanians suffered a painful 0:3 defeat against the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, led by "Manchester City" star Edin Dzeko.

Although it is said that people play football, not money, looking at the value of the Bosnian striker (29 million euros), it becomes clear what level this footballer is.

The portal 15min.lt, using the football market and player prices evaluation website transfermarkt.de, calculated the values of Lithuanian players and their opponents in the G group qualifiers.

Only the footballers who have stepped onto the field at least twice in the qualifying matches are included in the list. Interestingly, all G group national teams have 16 such players.

The mentioned E.Dzeko is the most expensive footballer in the G group, valued at 29 million euros - a significantly higher amount than the value of all players in the Latvian and Lithuanian national teams combined. The leader of the Slovak team, Marek Hamsik, is worth more than the combined value of both Baltic national teams.

Bosnia and Herzegovina: 4 matches - 3 wins and 1 draw. Scored 15, conceded 2 goals. The total value of the team's players is 89.7 million euros. The most expensive player is Edin Dzeko (Manchester City) - 29 million euros, bought for 37 million euros.
