The Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o revealed to journalists that he rejected an offer last summer.

Last summer, the Cameroonian who came from "Mallorca" to the Catalonia superclub immediately became one of the leaders of the club and is the top scorer of the Spanish championship, with 21 goals already this season.

Last summer, another Spanish superclub, Real Madrid, who had a 50% stake in the player, wanted to prevent S. Eto'o's move to Barcelona, but later all obstacles were removed.

Now, S. Eto'o revealed to journalists that he rejected a very lucrative offer from Liverpool in the summer of 2004.

"Although Liverpool offered me six million euros per season, I did not agree, because there are more important things than money," said S. Eto'o. "Happiness has no price and it cannot be bought."

"I had to leave a club where I laughed very little," said the Cameroonian, implying it was Real Madrid.

S. Eto'o jokingly added that he refused to go to England because of the unpredictable weather: "Everyone knows what the weather is like in England."
