Calum Elliot insists he wants to leave the Vilnius "Žalgiris" club at the end of the season.
The footballer, who scored 16 goals in 32 matches in the Lithuanian Championship, identified homesickness for his native country, family, and friends as the main reason.
"I don't think I will play here next season. I just need to resolve a few issues with the club's management," said Elliot. "I wanted to leave last summer, but they didn't let me go because the team is eager to win the national championship. I hope they succeed, and then we will come to an agreement about a sale or loan."
He added: "No one wants to pay transfer fees for players from Lithuania, so that creates a bit of a problem. I was even a bit upset at one point, but I can't complain - choosing "Žalgiris" was the right career move.
"Vilnius is a great city, I played in every match, so I really have no complaints. But here I am a foreigner, I miss home, so I would like to continue my career in Scotland or England. Only a couple of weeks left until the end of the season - I am really looking forward to it."
