The head coach Sir Alex Ferguson says that the team's right-back Rafael could achieve the same legendary status as Gary Neville.
"He trains like a beast, never misses a practice - the guy is just a football fanatic," said the Scotsman. "When he goes home in the summer, he plays for his street team every day.
Perhaps he had qualities of impatience and hot-headedness, but with maturity, that disappears. Rafael's form this season is excellent and he has become a very strong player himself.
"Of course, I have no doubt," when asked if Rafael can replicate Gary Neville's career, Ferguson said. "When Gary arrived with us, he still had a lot to improve, but he was lucky that we were giving a lot of time to young footballers at that time.
"Gary progressed and became perhaps the best right-back defender in the club's history. Learning to control the ball and cross it cost time, but he succeeded because he put in a lot of effort.
Rafael is undoubtedly more talented than Neville. Don't forget that Gary came to our club as a center-back."
