On Sunday, two meetings took place in the Bundesliga - Leverkusen's "Bayer" faced the German champions title defenders, Bremen's "Werder", and "Gladbach", who had changed their coach, played against "Nürnberg".

The hosts started the match excellently and in the third minute, after a pass from D.Berbatov, the first goal was scored by the Polish player J.Krzynowek. "Bayer" continued to press the opponents and M.Babic doubled the lead in the 37th minute.

However, the guests from Bremen soon equalized the score when M.Klose headed the ball into the net. The intrigue remained until the end of the match, but "Bayer" held on and celebrated an important victory, allowing them to reduce the gap to a minimum from the 5-6 places shared by "Werder" and "Hamburger" teams.
