London's "Chelsea" owner Roman Abramovich is considering potential candidates to replace the current team's coach, Roberto Di Matteo, reassuring that he feels the support of the players.
The Champions League winners are facing an important match against Turin's "Juventus" on Tuesday, a loss in which would greatly complicate their chances of reaching the knockout stages. This would be the first time that the defending champions fail to even make it to the quarter-finals.
"I don't think about it," Di Matteo did not comment on the rumors. "We are preparing for the match and we have to make important decisions. I believe we will achieve a favorable result."
Defender Gary Cahill also expressed support for the coach: "His results are excellent - a lot has been achieved in a short period of time. Besides, we started this season quite well. I am confident that success will be repeated this season as well."
Pep Guardiola is considered the main contender to replace Di Matteo. However, it would not be easy for Abramovich to convince a specialist who stated last summer that he would take at least a year off from top-level football.
