Madrid superstar David Beckham earned praises from Spanish sports newspapers "Marca" and "AS" for his excellent performance.
The captain of the English national team has been demonstrating great gameplay in recent weeks: he was recognized as the best player in "El Clasico" and looked very impressive in the match against "Villarreal" on Saturday.
"Real" coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo restored the Englishman to his usual right-back position, and Beckham quickly proved his skills and earned praise from experts.
"David Beckham is proving his abilities to everyone," wrote "AS". "On Saturday against 'Villarreal', he played his best match of the season. He inspired his team-mates not to give up when trailing by one goal and took part in almost all of Real's attacks."
"He was a pillar for Real despite his back problems. Even before the 'Valencia' match, he played after taking painkillers and now he continues to endure back pain," added "Marca".
In the match on Saturday, with Real trailing 1-0, Beckham was one of the most noticeable figures within the Royal club. Unofficial statistics claim that Beckham dangerously crossed the ball into the penalty area 15 times.
Although Zinedine Zidane provided the assist for Ronaldo's goal, Beckham's contributions did not go unnoticed by football experts.
