Man City strategist Roberto Mancini is convinced that Mario Balotelli could become one of the best footballers in the world if he paid more attention to training.
The Italian is known for his flashy style of play, but often disappoints coaches with his behavior off the field.
"He has everything to be among the very best," said the specialist about the 22-year-old talent. "We could compare Mario to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi if he understood that it takes a lot of hard work."
He continued: "It's not easy to work with this forward every day, as there are over 20 footballers around him. Off the field, Balotelli is a great guy. Sometimes he lacks understanding of how important this work is, but I hope that will change.
"He is only 22 years old for now, but time flies fast. He needs to work a lot and hard if he wants to compete with Cristiano and Lionel. It would be a shame if he couldn't do that."
