"Man City" strategist Roberto Mancini is calm about his future, even though the star-studded team has been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League tournament for the second season in a row after the group stage.
In five matches, the English champions have only managed to get three points, so in the last round they will only go through the formalities. Their last hopes were dashed on Wednesday when "Man City" played to a 1-1 draw at home with Madrid's "Real."
"I am not afraid of being fired. If we think that with big investments we can win the Champions League in two years, we are a bit crazy," said the Italian.
He continued: "Look at "Chelsea." This team tried to win the tournament for ten years, and when they were strongest, they didn't do it. Last season, when no one expected it, they won trophies.
"It is because the Champions League is a strange and complicated tournament. We need to have passion and improve, realizing that we cannot start the group stage with mistakes. We must win the first two matches. While in the Premier League you can recover from a slip-up, in the Champions League there is no time for that."
And he added: "I think "Real" and "Borussia" deserve to play in the next stage, because they played better than us."
