Alonso: we are not friends with C. Ronaldo © EuroFootball.com

Madrid's "Real" defender Xabi Alonso admitted not being Cristiano Ronaldo's friend, but they maintain a working relationship and respect each other.

At the beginning of this season, there were talks about C. Ronaldo's arrogance and inability to find common ground with his teammates. Rumors spread that the Portuguese could leave the club because of this.

"We support and respect each other," said Alonso. "Of course, not everyone in the locker room are friends, and Cristiano and I barely interact outside the team. But in the dressing room, we get along - he is not 'being aloof'."

Spain's national team attack organizer also spared no praise for coach Jose Mourinho: "Cristiano is very ambitious and self-confident, and very important for the team. I always learn from Mourinho. He can demand and takes care of every detail. People think they know him well, but it's just an external perception. In the locker room, we see a different Mourinho."
