Vilnius City Football Club "Žalgiris" extended the contract with the successful coach from Poland, Marek Zub, who led the team to thirteen victories in fourteen official matches and will continue to lead the team.
The Polish coach made his debut in Lithuania's capital against Panevėžys "Ekranas," which ended in a draw. Later on, Žalgiris achieved only victories on all fronts.
Under the guidance of the new coach, the team won 11 consecutive victories in the "General Financing A League," two Lithuanian Football Federation Cup matches, and three friendly games, including a victory against the strongest team in the Polish league, Varsovian "Legia."
"We are pleased to extend cooperation with Marek. In four months, he proved to be the right person for 'Žalgiris.' The team accepted the coach warmly," said Mindaugas Nikoličius, sports director of VMFD "Žalgiris." "Marek had no adaptation problems. I believe that next year we can successfully achieve our goals with him."
Under M. Zub's leadership, Žalgiris played a total of seventeen matches and won sixteen of them.
