London's "Chelsea" strategist Rafael Benitez admits that striker Fernando Torres has not been able to demonstrate the same level of play that "Liverpool" fans once saw.
The 28-year-old footballer scored 81 goals in 142 matches for Liverpool, but after moving to "Chelsea" in 2011 for an impressive sum of 58 million euros, he struggled to find his form and only scored 19 goals in 88 matches.
"Torres' form is not as good as before, but I believe it can change," said Benitez. "Are we close to that? I don't know. It also depends on other players in the team. Fernando can play better, but those around him need to help him."
He continued: "We must help him regain confidence in his abilities. We want him and all others to improve physically - that would be a start."
A few days ago, Benitez replaced Roberto Di Matteo as the manager of Chelsea. It is hoped that the specialist who worked with Torres at Liverpool for many years will help him recover.
The coach also added that they will try to use more players, as only 19 have appeared on the field so far this season. This is the lowest number in the Premier League.
