The tragic end of their performance was for the English champions, Manchester City players, who finished in the last place of Group D, losing 1-0 away to Dortmund's Borussia team.
Roberto Mancini's players failed to win a single match in six games - with three draws and three losses in their record.
Despite playing without many main team players, the Madrid Real team defeated Amsterdam's Ajax 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
Jose Maria Callejon scored twice for the winners, while Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka each scored one goal.
In the battle for the top spot in Group A, PSG defeated Porto 2-1 in front of their home crowd, while Zagreb's Dinamo snatched their first point in a dramatic fashion in the last seconds against Kiev's Dynamo, drawing 1-1.
In Group B, Gelsenkirchen's Schalke remained at the top after losing 2-1 away to Olympiakos in Piraeus, while London's Arsenal was defeated by Olympiakos.
In Group C, St. Petersburg's Zenit triumphed 1-0 away against Milan, while Malaga managed a 2-2 draw against Anderlecht in Brussels.
The Champions League quarter-final draws will be held on December 20.
