London's Chelsea defender Oriol Romeu will have to spend six months away from football after a knee operation.
The 21-year-old Spaniard suffered the injury during Saturday's English Premier League match, in which the capital team secured a victory against Sunderland.
After this match, O. Romeu had to undergo knee surgery instead of joining the trip to the Club World Cup in Japan.
The defender joined the ranks of the "Blues" in August 2011, coming from Barcelona. This season, the Spaniard slowly started to break into the main lineup and played nine matches.
