Former "Barcelona" club strategist Pep Guardiola's representatives informed London's "Arsenal" team that the strategist would prefer this English team, reports "Goal.com".

At the end of last season, the Spaniard stepped down from his role as the coach of the Barcelona team and decided to take a break from his coaching career and is currently resting in the United States.

Meanwhile, rumors about the possible departure of "Arsenal" strategist Arsene Wenger after this season are becoming more frequent. These rumors were especially fueled by the humiliating exit of the North London club from the country's league cup when they lost to the fourth division "Bradford" club on Tuesday night.

Media sources claim that Guardiola would choose the "gunners" team, not one of the Manchester clubs or another London team like "Chelsea".

The current "Arsenal" coach has not experienced much pressure throughout his coaching career with the team since 1996. The club is currently in seventh place in the Premier League standings, just two points behind the top four.

However, the team has not won any trophies for over seven years, so it is said that this will be Wenger's last season at the helm of the team.

Before that, the favorite to attract P. Guardiola was considered to be the "Chelsea" team, whose owner Roman Abramovich can provide a lot of money to strengthen the team, but the strategist does not want to work at a club where the coach's situation is never stable.

A. Wenger said in an interview last year that he would like to see Dragan Stojković as his successor in the "gunners" coach's seat.

P. Guardiola won the Spanish championship three times during his four years of coaching the "Barcelona" club, as well as two UEFA Champions League titles and two Spanish King's Cups. The team's trophy collection was also supplemented with three Spanish Super Cups, two UEFA Super Cups, and two FIFA Club World Cup trophies.
