Madrid's "Real" forward Karim Benzema became the French Footballer of the Year for the second consecutive time.

The 24-year-old player had a good 2011/12 season at the royal club and scored 21 times in the Spanish league. This striker was praised by the French legend Zinedine Zidane.

"I am very proud of this award. I want to thank everyone who supported me," said the Spanish champion to "Telefoot" news.

In these awards, K.Benzema surpassed Munich's "Bayern" defender Franck Ribery, London's "Tottenham" goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, as well as "Arsenal" newcomer Olivier Giroud and "Marseille" team's player Mathieu Valbuena.
