"Stoke City" defender Ryan Shawcross knocked out Liverpool's "Everton" goalkeeper Marouane Fellaini with his head, resulting in a three-match suspension.
The Belgian national team member caused this incident in Saturday's match, which ended in a 1-1 draw. In the 59th minute, the footballer hit his opponent with his head, but Fellaini did not receive even a yellow card after this episode.
Match referee Mark Halsey confirmed after the game that the 25-year-old goalkeeper was left unpunished because he did not see exactly what happened between these two players, but he emphasized that the "Everton" leader was aggressive throughout the match and was also illegally stopped by players from his side in several episodes.
Nevertheless, Fellaini apologized for this incident: "I want to apologize to Ryan Shawcross, I admit that I behaved inappropriately."
