The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has decided to deduct two points from Napoli and suspend two defenders of the team for six months for silence about match-fixing.

Former Italian national team goalkeeper Matteo Gianello was suspended for 39 months for attempting to fix the result of the match between Napoli and Sampdoria in 2010, while his former teammates Paolo Cannavaro and Gianluca Brava, who knew about the incident but did not report it, received a six-month ban from football.

Two points were deducted from Napoli in the team's league table, causing them to drop to 5th place in Serie A.
