"Barcelona" officially announced that they have reached an agreement with the second team goalkeeper Jose Manuel Pinto regarding a new contract. According to the contract, which is expected to be signed in the near future, the 37-year-old veteran should wear the Catalan team's shirt until the summer of 2014. The goalkeeper's previous contract would expire after this season. J. M. Pinto arrived at "Barca" in January 2008, when the then backup goalkeeper of Victor Valdes, Albert Jorquera, suffered a serious injury in a friendly match. The Catalan club was forced to look for reinforcements and borrowed a goalkeeper from the Vigo "Celta" team for six months free of charge. In the summer of the same year, "Barca" exercised the right to offer him a new contract, and the Galician team received a fee of 500 thousand euros. The reserve goalkeeper of the Catalan team has played a total of 34 matches in the King's Cup tournament, 14 matches in the Spanish Primera, and defended the "Barcelona" goal four times in the Champions League tournament.
