On Saturday, the seventh round of the English "Premier" League took place.
At "Old Trafford" stadium, the confidently leading "Manchester United" team met "West Bromwich". Sir Alex Ferguson's players won 2-0 in front of their fans.
The "Red Devils" took the lead in the 9th minute of the match when center-back Gareth McAuley scored an own goal. Robin van Persie, who came on as a substitute, secured the victory with a goal in the 90th minute.
In other matches, the "Manchester City" team faced "Norwich" with an attacking advantage over the United team. In a high-scoring duel, at the end of the first half, the "cityzens" managed to win 4-3. Sergio Aguero scored once, and Edin Dzeko scored twice for the English champions. In the 67th minute, "Norwich" goalkeeper Mark Bunn unfortunately scored an own goal.
In Sunderland, the local "Sunderland" team played against London's "Tottenham". Andre Villas-Boas' team secured a narrow 2-1 victory. The hosts took the lead in this match, but own goals by Carlos Cuellar and Aaron Lennon led to the victory for "Spurs".
