During the Premier League match on Sunday, "Manchester United" fans booed their club defender Rio Ferdinand. According to the British press, such behavior from fans was caused because after negotiations with London executive director Peter Kenyon, the player demanded a salary of £120,000 per week.

"Man Utd" fans during all matches demanded Ferdinand to sign a contract and the most aggressive ones did not hesitate to use foul language. However, after the match, the player approached the stands and greeted the fans.

"The fans always behave like this when a player does not sign a contract," said the head coach of "MU" Sir Alex Ferguson. "We have made a good offer to the player. I would be delighted if someone offered me such a contract. Ferdinand's agent was not in England over the weekend, hence negotiations for a new player contract are progressing slowly. I have to make a decision about Ferdinand by May 21st. In any case, we will not increase our offer. If the agent says 'no', we will not rush with Rio's sale. We will make him play the remaining two years of his contract."

Ferguson stated that he is not happy with the player's demands, especially after "Man Utd" paid him his salary during all 8 months of disqualification.
