Main goalkeeper of Barcelona Victor Valdes stated that he would like to play for the team until the end of his career.
The current goalkeeper's contract expires in the summer of 2014 and despite Valdes not rushing to renew the contract, he would like to finish his career wearing the "blaugrana" jersey.
"I signed my last contract in 2009 and since then I haven't worried about it or talked to anyone about it. There's no need to worry about it, I still have a lot of time. Right now I am focused on playing. I would like to finish my career here, but we'll see what happens," - said the 30-year-old goalkeeper about his new contract.
Despite his desire to stay in Barcelona until the end of his career, Valdes did not rule out the possibility of playing elsewhere: "I've spent 11 years here and in many aspects it's difficult. I don't rule out other cultures, different football, other countries. We'll see how it goes."
Barcelona started the winter break with a 9-point lead in the La Liga championship over the second-placed Atletico club, but the goalkeeper says they still need to fight hard to secure the champion's title.
"The first half of the season isn't over yet. It's true that we have a good lead over the teams in second and third place, but it's not over yet. There's still a lot of time and we will fight for more points," - said Valdes.
