Artūras Žulpa, who represented the Lithuanian youth national team, has joined the Vilnius city football club "Žalgiris". Becoming the second new player on the team, the 22-year-old footballer spent the last three seasons playing for the Pakruojo "Kruoja" club.

In this team, he played a total of 66 matches, scored 15 goals, and made 5 assists. A. Žulpa's most successful season was the last one, where he stood out with 7 goals and 3 assists in 32 matches, and the team finished in fourth place in the A League.

The footballer, who demonstrates increasingly solid performance every year, has decided to continue his career with the green and white team.

"I accepted the offer from Žalgiris without thinking for long. I know more than half of the team members, so the decision was not difficult. I knew in advance what awaits me in the new team. I am happy with my choice," says A. Žulpa, who strengthened the capital's team.

"The invitation to join Žalgiris was not unexpected, but I was happy to receive it. It's nice when such a team shows interest," reveals the newcomer of the Lithuanian vice-champions.

"Last season at Pakruojo 'Kruoja' club was not bad. I played a lot, and the team achieved good results. I feel like I contributed to them. I think that with each season in my career, I climb one step higher. I have no doubt that these years with the new team will be a big step forward," says the defender.

"Last year I watched almost all of Žalgiris' matches. As I mentioned, many of my friends play here, so we often discussed the matches. However, during the matches, we forgot about friendships and became rivals. There was always a fierce battle between Žalgiris and Kruoja. It was not easy for anyone to play. I hope that in the coming season, I will contribute to Žalgiris' victories. I would like to win titles, especially since all the conditions are in place at Žalgiris. We will aim for the highest goals," says A. Žulpa.

"I will have to fight for a place on the team, but that's okay. When you feel competition, a sporting anger emerges. Then you put in more effort, try to prove your worth to the coach, improve faster. I would like to play in the main lineup, but I will feel comfortable starting the matches even from the substitutes' bench. Through substitutions, the coach often tries to strengthen his team," says the confident young football player.

"I will come to the training camp in good physical shape. During the off-season, I didn't rest for long, I spent my free time actively. I played sports, football, visited the 'Savicko sports club'," says the Žalgiris defender.

A. Žulpa started his career six years ago at the FC "Vilnius" club. He later moved to another capital's team, FK "Vėtra", and from there to Pakruojo "Kruoja".

The new Žalgiris player represented the Lithuanian U-21 national team 14 times, scored 2 goals, and made 1 assist.
