On Saturday afternoon, the third round matches of the England FA Cup were played.

London's Chelsea club managed to recover after a cold shower and crush the Southampton football players. In the 22nd minute, the "Blues" conceded a goal, scored by Jay Rodriguez, but in the first half Demba Ba's debut goal and Victor Moses's accurate shot allowed the aristocrats to take the lead.

In the second half, Branislav Ivanovic, Demba Ba and Frank Lampard scored from the penalty spot, securing a solid victory for Chelsea in the Football Association Cup tournament.

Another London club, Tottenham, also celebrated a solid victory at home against Coventry City. Clint Dempsey scored a double, while Gareth Bale added one goal.

English champions Manchester City also secured a victory against Watford with the same result. Carlos Tevez and Gareth Barry scored in the first half, while 17-year-old Manchester City academy member Marcos Lopes ended the match with a precise shot in the closing moments of the second half.

In the earlier matches, Brighton & Hove Albion provided a surprise by eliminating Newcastle from the tournament in front of their own fans. Andrea Orlandi and W. Hoskins scored goals, and in the 63rd minute, Newcastle's forward Shola Ameobi received a second yellow card and was forced to leave the field.

In the evening matches, Manchester United and West Ham will face each other. The drawings for the fourth round will take place on Sunday evening.
