On Saturday evening, after the winter break, the Italian "Serie A" championship returned and two matches of the XIX round were played.
The second-placed Rome's "Lazio" team reduced the gap from the champions "Juventus" to 5 points. Represented by Marius Stankevičius, the team beat "Cagliari" players with a score of 2-1. With a little over 10 minutes left until the end of the match, "Lazio" was still trailing after the opponent's forward Marco Sau scored in the 62nd minute, but in the 79th minute the score became equal when Abdoulay Konko scored.
Soon the drama began: in the 83rd minute, "Cagliari" goalkeeper Michael Agazzi was sent off the field for a second yellow card, and in the 85th minute, defender Andrea Cossu saw a red card and "earned" a penalty kick for the opponents, which was successfully converted by Antonio Candreva securing the victory for his team.
In the match between "Catania" and "Torino", the home team's defender Francesco Lodi received a red card in the 13th minute, and no goals were scored in this match.
On Sunday, eight more matches of the XIX round will be played.
