On Monday in Zurich, Switzerland, the 2012 FIFA awards ceremony and one of the most popular French sports newspapers "France Football" took place.

For the fourth time in a row, the best football player on the planet was the star of the Argentine national team and "Barcelona", Lionel Messi. Other contenders included his teammate forward, Andres Iniesta, and the attacking leader of Madrid's "Real", Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 25-year-old footballer received 41.60% of the votes, the captain of the Portuguese national team remained in second place with 23.68%, and one of the best midfielders, A. Iniesta, collected 10.91% to secure third place.

The best coach of the year was chosen as the architect of the victories of the Spanish national team, Vicente Del Bosque, who received 34.51% of the votes.
